Manatee County EOC Downgrades Activation StatusMANATEE COUNTY, FL (October 5, 2022) – In the wake of Hurricane Ian, Manatee County officials have downgraded the activation status of the Emergency Operations center (EOC) to a partial activation—maintaining essential recovery and response functions.

"We are continuing to help coordinate post-storm activities,” said Public Safety Deputy Director Steve Litschauer. "This will continue for a long time."

As the county’s damage assessment teams move into phase two of their work, they have detailed $91 million in residential damages and $15 million in commercial damages in their initial estimates.
