MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Feb. 9, 2018) – Manatee County Building and Development Services Department (BADS) customers will soon be able to do business with the County without ever having to visit County offices. On Feb. 27 BADS will offer Online Services, a new web-based tool that offers all BADS services online.

Customers will be able to remotely submit applications for permitting, licensing, planning and zoning. They'll also be able to track a project’s progress from submittal through final approval from the convenience of a connected home computers or mobile device.

Prior to the new Online Services, BADS will offer several opportunities for local contractors and customers to learn how to use the new system from instructor-led classes to online videos and quick reference guides.

BADS Director John Barnott says the department has spent a significant amount of time preparing for the rollout. As with any conversion to a new system, there may be inconveniences in the short term. As the department prepares for this transition, BADS offices will close at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 21and for the entire day on Monday, Feb. 26. Also, our current online permitting and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems will be down from Feb. 21-26. During these dates BADS staff will finalize preparations for the Feb. 27 "go live" date for Manatee County Online Services.

Anyone who prefers to do business with BADS in person will still have that option at either the BADS downtown location or at the new North River Annex in Ellenton.

"I think after our customers try the new Online Services, they'll discover it’s an easy-to-use system that will save them time and travel," Barnott said. "People will realize this is a great online offering and process that will allow us to better serve you."
