MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Feb. 3, 2020) – Manatee County residents will have an opportunity to get free expert advice on preparing their homes and families for Hurricane Season at Manatee County's first Hurricane Preparedness Expo next month.

The free event will be Thursday, March 5, 3 - 8 p.m. at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Blvd, Palmetto. Manatee County Emergency Management officials are organizing the event and will host speakers from the National Weather Service, Spectrum Bay News 9, FPL and more.

"This will be our first ever Hurricane Expo, and we're hoping to better prepare and educate Manatee County residents on the things they need to do to prepare for Hurricane Season," said Emergency Management Chief Steve Litschauer. "We'll be emphasizing the importance of knowing the strength of your home, learning your evacuation level and having a hurricane kit ready."

Vendors interested in participating in the expo should register online by February 10.
