DEVELOPMENT OF AFFORDABLE
MULTI-FAMILY HOUSING AND DESIGNATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF OPPORTUNITY (LGAO)
FUNDED THROUGH THE STATE OF FLORIDA’S LOW INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT PROGRAM

Manatee County’s Redevelopment and Economic Opportunity (REO) Department is requesting applications from developers interested in receiving an LGAO designation to apply for funding through the 2020 State of Florida Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). The applications are necessary to determine the County’s desire to contribute the required maximum local government contribution toward a project that promotes affordable housing in the County’s Southwest District.

The successful applicant will be determined based upon the program selection criteria included in the application. Applications for funding will be released on September 4, 2020 and will remain open until September 18, 2020. All interested parties must submit their application to the County by 4:30 p.m. on September 18, 2020 via email to [email protected] with one hard copy received at 1112 Manatee Ave W, Suite 300, Bradenton, FL 34205. Any applications received after that time will not be considered. Applications will be ranked by REO staff. The County Administrator will have final approval of the selected project.

Proposals must show project readiness, appropriate zoning, utility availability and compatibility with neighborhood character, and meet the County’s goals and objectives for the location. All proposals must be prepared using the county’s application form and related support documents and must be submitted to REO located at the address listed above.
