Summer of Savings On Pet Adoptions at MCAS

Summer of Savings On Pet Adoptions at MCAS: $4 Adoption Fees, Plus Fee-Waived and Reduced-Fee Options
Posted on 06/20/2018

With over 300 animals at the shelter facility, Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) has once again reached critical capacity. To encourage our community to “adopt, not shop”, MCAS is offering a trio of adoption fee incentives starting today:

  • $4 adoptions to celebrate the 4th of July (Through July 7)
  • Fee-Waived Adoptions for first responders and veterans (Through July 31)
  • Seniors for Seniors Discount: Senior adopters (ages 55+) only pay $10 adoption fees for pets seven years and older (Through December 31)

All dog and cat adoption fees will be discounted as described above (regular adoption fee is $80 for dogs and $40 for cats). All adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and rabies certificate. Manatee County residents are required to license their new pet for an additional $15.

Manatee County Animal Services is Manatee County’s only open-admission shelter facility, taking in an average of 10 animals per day in 2017. By never turning any animal away that comes to us (no matter the condition, age, breed or species), that average has increased this month to 15 animals per day due to kitten season, confiscation cases and owner surrenders.

MCAS has 2 locations: Palmetto Adoption Center and Shelter is located at 305 25th Street West, Palmetto, FL 34221. Hours are Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesdays until 7 p.m. Downtown Cat Adoption Center, located at 1002 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, FL 34205, is open Tuesday – Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Animal Services can be reached at 941-742-5933.
