Manatee County Aquatics is offering the safest lessons in town!

Private 30-minute swimming lessons are available now for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. All lessons are taught with social distancing in place. A parent or guardian must be present and in the water with children during lessons unless it is determined by the instructor that the student is capable of independent swimming.

The aquatic staff is dedicated to water safety and swimming instruction. Our programs are progression based so students can learn and advance through skill levels at their own pace. Each level is taught with an emphasis on water safety while learning basic swimming skills. All instructors are trained and certified through the American Red Cross. Anyone, ages three and up, are encouraged to learn how to be safe in and around the water.

*In the event of inclement weather, the swim lesson staff will attempt to make up a missed lesson, but no make up lessons are guaranteed.

Additional Information & Frequently Asked Questions

I want to register my child for multiple sessions. Do I have to pay all at once or can I pay as I go?

This is a personal preference; some parents will place their child in lessons the whole summer and pay for all sessions up front. Other parents will wait and pay for sessions as they go along. Please keep in mind that classes have a ratio of 6 students to 1 instructor and registrations are completed on a first come first serve basis, so if you do choose to wait your session may become full.

What supplies does my child need for classes?

Please bring your child dressed in a swimsuit and sunscreen, goggles (no snorkel masks), and a towel.

My three year old child can swim like a fish, can I put them in a higher level than preschool?

We will assess these kinds of swimmers on a case by case basis.

Do I need to bring my child to their lesson if it is raining at my house?

Yes.  Florida’s weather is often unpredictable and it could be raining in one part of town and bright and sunny just down the road. Many times these summer storms move in and out very quickly. We ask that each child show up at every scheduled lesson. If we know ahead of time that the pool is closed for unsafe weather, we will do our best to call you to cancel the lesson and offer a make-up date or try to conduct a dry land exercise and education class. If any future weather cancellations happen beyond the first make-up date, no further make-up is guaranteed ( this includes if the make up date is cancelled).
