Manatee Libraries

The libraries will be closing early on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. All branches will be closed Thursday, November 26 through Saturday, November 28. We wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and will see you Monday, November 30.

We are excited to announce that we are starting a new chapter and are now FINE FREE
The new County Policy was approved at the regular October 27, 2020 Board of County Commissioner’s meeting. This enables people in our community to access essential services without being barred due to fines. Manatee County and its libraries are committed to equity and inclusion and removing barriers to resources for the community. Lost or damaged materials, however, are subject to replacement fees.

Libraries Reopening: All six of Manatee Libraries’ full-service locations are open at limited occupancy during normal operational days, but all will close one hour early to allow staff time to disinfect surfaces in all public areas.

  • The LITtle Discovery Center (for ages 2 to 5 and their parents/caretakers) will remain closed.
  • Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
  • Face coverings and temperature checks will be required, and the staff asks that customers limit their visits to 30 minutes in order to accommodate more customers while adhering to occupancy guidelines.
  • Computers will be available but are limited to one 30-minute session per visitor per day.
  • For more detailed information, please see our Library Reopening FAQ's page.
