Redevelopment and Economic Opportunity Department (REO) was created in October 2016 to focus county efforts on the redevelopment and revitalization of urban areas of the county and to create greater economic opportunities for residents and businesses with our housing, community and economic development projects and programs.



Notice of Request for Applications
Manatee County’s Redevelopment and Economic Opportunity (REO) Department is requesting applications from developers interested in receiving an LGAO designation to apply for funding through the 2020 State of Florida Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). The applications are necessary to determine the County’s desire to contribute the required maximum local government contribution toward a project that promotes affordable housing in the County’s Southwest District.Read More

Southwest District

The Southwest District was created to promote redevelopment and enhance long-term growth in the area. This includes property acquisition, voluntary building repair and rehabilitation programs, and public improvements to streets, utilities, parks, playgrounds, street lighting, sidewalks and more.
